How does one become a plastic surgeon?

How does one become a Plastic Surgeon? Here's a plastic surgeon's (Dr. Tammy Wu) story of her childhood and growing up in a medical family. Her essay is entitled - Medicine is the language we speak at home. Part of a series of essays aimed at the topic "So, you want to be a doctor?" All the links above point to the same essay by Dr. Tammy Wu.

This was what I was working on all day.

I even have pictures of Dr. Wu placed on this web page when she was a child. And I have listed many of her relatives (with website links!) who are currently practicing medicine in Taiwan or in the United States.

The website also has pictures of Dr. Tammy Wu's father operating in the 1970's.

  1. Interesting read. Keep in mind, excellent credentials and a good rapport with your surgeon does not guarantee a favorable outcome. They are, however, the foundation of a successful partnership between your surgeon and you.
